The development paradigm of GNOMON is Java platform based along with the related supporting technologies, while emphasis is given on the utilisation of proven open source systems as building blocks of large scale internet systems. Agile software development methodologies namely scrum and industry proven best practices like continuous integration are the core of the Gnomon development process.
The main line of expertise is on Interoperability and scalable Cloud Computing architectures. More specifically, and since 2009, GNOMON is a well known European eHealth interoperability player with participation in major components developments as a member of the epsos openNCP development team as well as the mentor and implementer of the Greek ePrescription pharmacies pilot, which managed an 87.5% of the traffic (250.000 dispensations out of 8.500 connected pharmacies and 17 different applications) deployed in a tight six months schedule. Moreover, GNOMON has undertaken bespoke development and consulting tasks for several ehealth agencies and organisations such as Agence eSante Luxembourg, Malta Information Agency, Austrian Ministry of Health, Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions and others.
GNOMON’s eHealthPass product line, the first eHealth interoperability solution to comply with the Trillium Bridge EU-US gateway specification showcased in HIMSS 2015, is envisioned to be a complete service provision for specific cross border scenarios.
Furthermore, GNOMON provides software and services in the forefront of the deepening social care crisis in Greece by empowering social care workers with apps and electronic aid tools that act as productivity multipliers. In alliance with NGOs like Lifeline and industry leaders like TUNSTALL and OMRON, GNOMON has deployed assisted living solutions (panic button, GPS locators, and Bluetooth weight scales and blood pressure meters) in four municipalities providing coverage to 1000 senior citizens. Finally, a special Continua alliance based internet gateway has been devised using open source tools and hardware (raspberry pi) to enable standards conformant operation in adverse conditions.
